I did this last year, and have decided to make this a yearly tradition. It is important to keep this up to date. For parents, for players, and for coaches to get a full picture of the structure of the Catholic school landscape, and where each school stands in terms of affordability. In uncertain economic times, this is important.
It also creates context for where each school stands, and may answer some questions as to why certain schools have different sports and academic cultures than others, whether it is because of their tuition, the religious order that runs them, etc.
When talking about the CHSFL, it is important to know how the Catholic Church divides up territory. The Catholic world is split into dioceses. A group of dioceses surrounded by an Archdiocese is an Ecclesiastical Province. Anyways, for the purposes of the CHSFL there are three dioceses that make up where the schools are, and it is these organizations that support most of the Catholic schools. This is not like the CHSAA where each diocese does their own thing. The only CHSAA game that is played in football is the State Championship between the Monsignor Martin Champion (Diocese of Buffalo) and the NYCHSFL. In basketball, each diocese has their own tournaments and playoffs. For example, the Archdiocese of New York has an Archdiocesan tournament, and the Brooklyn diocese has a Diocesan tournament. After these playoffs finish, both of these Dioceses come together for the Intersectional Tournament. Long Island, or the Diocese of Rockville Center, does not take part in these tournaments.
The NYCHSFL is part of the Ecclesiastical Province of New York, and the dioceses that make up the NYCHSFL are below:
- The Archdiocese of New York: Encompasses, Staten Island, Manhattan, the Bronx, Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess, Orange, and Ulster Counties.
- The Diocese of Brooklyn: Encompasses Brooklyn and Queens
- The Diocese of Rockville Center: Encompasses Nassau and Suffolk Counties
The numbers below are based on information that I have personally gotten from people, and what is publicly available on school websites.
Several schools have not updated their tuition for the 2026-27 school year, and several schools have made it very difficult to find the yearly tuition rate on their website, which I feel is in poor taste. You know who you are.

I find it distasteful at best, and malicious at worst that schools would make it intentionally difficult to find the yearly tuition of their school, especially in times of a rising cost of living. Of course, this is just the sticker price listed, yearly tuition without adding fees, which can be hundreds to thousands more.
What conclusions can you draw from this? Any surprises? If so, which ones? Also, corrections and updates are appreciated, for a few schools I had to really go digging for their information.
Anyways, have a nice Spring!
