This blog is my personal opinion and thoughts on the New York Catholic High School Football League. As someone who played, and then now follow the CHSFL as an alumnus, I continue to be frustrated by the lack of coverage for the league, especially divisions outside the top AAA division. My purpose of this blog is to provide information, insight, and musings on the current state of Catholic HS football in the New York City Metropolitan area. The shifts in the competitive landscape between these schools is fascinating to me.

I will also try to curate and present some of the historic rivalries in the CHSFL. The Battle of the Boulevard, played since 1974 between Holy Cross High School and Saint Francis Preparatory School in Queens is a fascinating rivalry. Fordham Preparatory School and Xavier High School in New York City was played first in 1887, and every year since 1927. Mount Saint Michael Academy and Cardinal Hayes High School, in the Bronx, have been playing since 1943. It is these rivalries that make the CHSFL so interesting.
